GOS, through its fully owned subsidiary Global Oil Shale (Australia) Pty Ltd, acquired Julia Creek, Australia, oil shale deposits in December 2012 currently covering a total licence area of xx square kilometres and containing an estimated in situ JORC inferred resource of more than 2 billion barrels of shale oil within 3x billions tons of surface oil shale rock as a resource .

 

During 2016 the Company consolidated its resources licences at Julia Creek follwing a an earlier drilling programme, with 116 drill holes to depths up to 60 metres, to improve its understanding of the resource. A programme been carried out in Australia and Estonia to examine oil yield and mineralogy of Julia Creek shale with a view to further process testing in 2017.
